Our Plumbing Services
Our licensed technicians handle the full range of residential and commercial plumbing work across Alameda County, CA. Here is what we take care of every day.
Leak Detection and Repair
Hidden water leaks waste hundreds of gallons before the damage becomes visible. We use pressure testing and acoustic detection to find leaks behind walls, under slabs, and in crawl spaces, then stop them at the source.
Faucet Repair and Replacement
A dripping faucet wastes over 3,000 gallons of water per year. We repair or replace worn washers, cartridges, and valves to restore full function without recommending parts you do not need.
Toilet Repair
Running toilets, weak flushes, and base leaks all signal worn internal components. We find the actual cause and fix it. Most toilet repairs are done in a single visit.
Garbage Disposal Repair
Jammed or leaking disposals are one of the most common service calls we handle in Alameda County. We clear blockages, replace worn seals, or install a new unit if the motor has failed.
Water Heater Repair
When your water heater stops producing hot water or starts leaking, the cause is usually a failed heating element, a worn thermostat, or sediment buildup in the tank. We inspect the unit, explain what we find, and give you an honest recommendation on repair or replacement.
General Plumbing Maintenance
Routine inspections catch small leaks, aging shut-off valves, and corroding fittings before they become expensive failures. Worth scheduling for older Alameda County homes and commercial properties with high daily water use.
Water Heater Installation
If your unit is over 10 years old or beyond repair, we install tank and tankless water heaters for residential and commercial properties throughout the East Bay.
Pipe Repair
Cracked, corroded, or damaged pipes cause pressure drops and water damage that gets worse over time. We fix the affected section without opening more of your wall or floor than the job requires.
Pipe Replacement
Homes built before 1980 in Oakland, Berkeley, San Leandro, and other areas of Alameda, CA county often still have galvanized steel supply lines corroded from the inside out. We replace them with copper or PEX piping rated for decades of use.
Water Pressure Diagnosis
Low water pressure is not always a simple fix. The cause can be mineral buildup inside older pipes, a partially closed shutoff valve, a failing pressure regulator, or a problem at the municipal supply. We trace it to the source before touching anything.
Plumbing Fixture Installation
We install sinks, faucets, showers, toilets, and other fixtures to manufacturer specifications. Every installation is tested and sealed before we leave.
Sewer Line Inspection and Repair
We run a camera through underground sewer lines to check for root intrusion, joint separations, and pipe collapse. If we find a problem, we give you a clear diagnosis and a repair estimate before any digging starts. We also offer trenchless sewer repair for properties where open-cut excavation would cause significant disruption.

I had leaking showerheads in two showers. Albion scheduled a visit quickly and and quickly replaced two different mixing valve cartridges. Another company sent a rep a couple of months earlier who flat out declared the problem a non-issue and charged me $75 and left without fixing anything.

Albion's team worked long and hard to clear plant roots out of the sewer. They dug up a section and installed an accessible cleanout so that future work will be easier. They even pulled out an old plumber's snake that had been stuck inside the sewer pipe for years. That was heroic!

Frequently Asked Questions
What do residential plumbers in Alameda County, CA typically handle?
Our licensed residential plumbers handle leak repairs, drain clearing, toilet and faucet repairs, water heater replacement, sewer line inspection, and pipe replacement. We also handle full replumbing jobs for homes with aging galvanized or polybutylene pipe systems, which are still common in Alameda County, CA housing built before 1980. If your home is older and you have not had a plumbing inspection recently, it is worth scheduling one before a small issue becomes a large one.
Does Albion Plumbing offer 24-hour emergency plumbing service?
Yes. We provide emergency plumbing response to Berkeley, Oakland, San Leandro, Emeryville, Kensington, and surrounding Alameda County cities. Call (510) 261-3339 to reach our dispatch team at any hour. For burst pipes, shut off the main water supply valve before calling to limit water damage while you wait for a technician.
How do I know if I have a plumbing emergency?
A burst pipe, overflowing toilet, major water leak, complete sewer backup, or sudden loss of hot water all require same-day attention. Gas odor near plumbing or supply lines is also an emergency. These situations can cause rapid structural damage or create safety risks. Do not wait for the next business day on any of them.
Why is the water pressure low in my Alameda County, CA home?
Low pressure in Alameda County, CA homes usually comes from one of four places: mineral buildup inside older galvanized supply pipes, a partially closed shutoff valve, a failing pressure regulator, or a slow leak somewhere in the system. Older homes in Oakland and Berkeley that still have original steel supply lines are most prone to this. We inspect the full system and find the actual cause before recommending any repair.
How often should a home plumbing system be inspected?
For homes with plumbing systems older than 20 years, an inspection every one to two years makes sense. Newer construction can typically go two to three years between inspections. Alameda County has a large stock of pre-1960 housing in Berkeley, Oakland, and Kensington, where annual checks catch corrosion, worn valves, and slow leaks before they turn into major repairs.
Are Albion Plumbing’s technicians licensed and insured?
Yes. Every technician holds a valid license through the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) under the C-36 Plumbing Contractor classification. We carry full general liability and workers’ compensation coverage. You can ask for our license number on any service call, and you can verify it directly at the CSLB website.
What should I look for when hiring a plumbing company in Alameda County?
Start with license verification. Check the CSLB database to confirm your plumber holds a valid C-36 license before agreeing to any work. Beyond that, look for upfront flat-rate pricing before work starts, a track record of real customer reviews, and a technician who explains the problem clearly before charging for a repair. Albion Plumbing has worked in Alameda County, CA for over 60 years. Our license is current, our pricing is explained before we start, and our reviews are public on Yelp.
